Zuma: Kaizer Chiefs might have some regrets

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Dumisani Zuma said the Amakhosi might regret their slow start to the season if the Absa Premiership title race stays as tight until the last day of the season. It seems as if the current race for the league trophy will go down to the wire with the top five teams only separated by five points with all teams still having seven games remaining.

Chiefs sit in seventh place on the table, two points behind fifth place, and still in with a shout of gunning for league honours, although even they would admit that their chances are slim. The Soweto giants did not have the best of starts to the campaign and Zuma feels they could be ruing that even though they have picked up from recently. In quotes posted by KickOff website, Zuma said: "We started the season slow but to see how wide open the log is now, we might have some regrets over the games we drew and lost [in the beginning].

"If we had won those games, we might have still had a good chance to win the league. But this is football - nobody knows, I think anything is still possible and we still have a chance [to compete]."Chiefs will aim to stay on track when they take on fifth-placed Supersport United later on Friday at the Mbombela Stadium.
